Looking for fun and free ways to keep learning while school’s out? From curriculum support, informal learning, and opportunities to meet up with other kids, the library has you covered!

Visit our Homework Help page for resources that support curriculum topics, including:
- SOLARO: Online lessons and practice tests for grades 3–12 based on the Alberta curriculum by the makers of The Key Study Guides and Student Notes and Problems Workbooks.
- Brainfuse HelpNow: Submit questions or chat with a tutor to get live help.
- World Book and L'Encyclopédie Découverte: Trusted information written at a variety of age levels, along with educational activities and games.
- Homework Pathfinders: Staff-curated guides to library books and websites on curriculum topics.
Explore hands-on learning through our K–12 programs like Family Tech Time: Augmented Reality (for children of all ages with their adults) or Planes and Projectiles (grades 4–6). Keep the brain active with our Virtual Escape Rooms where kids can solve puzzles to complete adventures.
Reading Resources
Keep up reading skills by reading regularly while out of school! Visit our Information Desk for help finding books that match your child’s reading level and interests. You can also try:
- Next 5 Reads: Get a personalized list of book recommendations.
- eBooks: Visit Libby to find eBooks, audiobooks, and read-alongs. You’ll find even more read-along books in TumbleBooks and Kanopy Kids, while BookFlix combines video versions of storybooks with a related nonfiction book to encourage learning.
- Children’s Book Club Kits: Borrow a kit with eight copies of a chapter book, plus activities and discussion guides.
- Meet with other readers at Junior Book Club (grades 3–6), Pizza and Pages: Chills and Thrills (grades 7–12), and Manga Club (grades 7–12).
