Family Literacy Day 2026: Make Mealtime Family Learning Time

Family Literacy Day is a nationwide celebration of reading and learning together. This year’s theme invites families to turn mealtime into a fun, flavourful way to grow and learn—from following recipes and writing shopping lists to sharing stories around the kitchen table.

Celebrate with us by sharing your favourite recipes and enjoying Family Literacy Day activities at the library!

Flavours of Home

Families are invited to share their own cherished recipes, which will be displayed in the library as part of our community recipe collection. Submit your favourite recipe to the main floor Information Desk, then explore tasty creations from other families to inspire your next family meal.
