Programs & Events FAQs

  • General Questions

Photos and videos may be taken by library staff or hired photographers for library promotional or educational material, including print, website, and social media. If you would prefer not to have your or your child's picture taken, just let the photographer know.

Occasionally members of the public will also hold photography sessions in the library. These must be pre-approved; find more information in this FAQ.

  • Registering

Some of our programs require pre-registration, and some are drop in. If a program requires registration, you will see a "Register" button. This will bring up an area where you can either enter your name and email to register, or you may log into your account and your information will automatically be filled in.

If you register while logged into your library account (recommended), you will then be able to track what programs you've signed up for and are on the waitlist for (labelled My Events in your account menu), as well as cancel your registration or add it to your Google/Outlook calendar. You will also be able to see a record of what programs you've attended in the past.

You can always call or visit us if you would like assistance registering for a program.

Online programs can be found through the library’s Events Calendar. Choose "Online events" under "Location" to see virtual programming. Look for a “register now” button once a program opens for registration, and further details about the program will be provided to the email address you provided as part of your registration.

  • Storytimes

Some of our programs can only be attended by a specific age group. For other programs, siblings of other ages are welcome to attend with them. The program description will say “siblings welcome” if siblings of other ages can attend. Please check our Programs & Events for details on storytime programs.

The library offers different types of storytimes throughout the week for your family to enjoy.

Baby Laptime: This program is for adults and their little ones from birth to twelve months. This program is ideal for babies not yet walking. We focus on rhymes, songs and simple stories to engage your baby’s senses.

Family Storytime: This program is for everyone! It is designed for ages 1-5, but siblings are welcome. This program focuses on stories, songs and musical activities for parents and children to enjoy together.
