Which Storytime Program Is Right for Your Family?

Are you ready to join us this winter, but unsure which program fits your family best? The library offers three different types of weekly storytimes, each 30 minutes for children and their adults to enjoy together. Here is a breakdown of our weekly program offerings.

Baby Laptime (registered)

This program is for little ones from birth to twelve months. We focus on rhymes, songs and simple stories to delight your baby’s senses. Baby Laptime allows the parent or caregiver time to bond and connect with their little one while learning new resources to bring home. It’s also a great way to meet other parents in the community. This program is ideal for babies not yet walking. To keep these programs safe and comfortable, in-person Baby Laptimes are limited to adults and babies only—no older siblings please.

Finding it hard to get to the library? Baby Laptime is also offered once a week over Zoom so you and your baby can enjoy the benefits of Baby Laptime from home. Register for Zoom Baby Laptime at any time during the series to get the Zoom link.

Toddler Time (registered)

This program is geared towards ages 1 to 3, but siblings of all ages are welcome. It is perfect for confident walkers and toddlers who love to move. Our focus in this program is to keep things interactive, with songs, rhymes, stories and all the movement a toddler could hope for in a storytime. We highly encourage parents and caregivers to participate with their little ones—the sillier the better.

Family Storytime (drop-in)

This program is designed for ages 1 to 5, but siblings of other ages are welcome. This program focuses on stories, songs and musical activities that will engage, excite and encourage early literacy skills for your little ones. This program is fun for the whole family, and we highly encourage parents and caregivers to participate in our activities.

We also offer Zoom Family Storytime on Friday evenings—a great way to enjoy stories and songs together before bed. You can register any time during the series to get the Zoom link.

We are confident there is a storytime that is right for your family. Our winter programs begin on Monday, January 9th. Please note that registration is required for Baby Laptime and Toddler Time, but families may register week by week for added flexibility. Registration is currently open for storytimes up to February 3. Registration opens January 21 for February 13 to March 25 storytimes.
